Facebook Face Detection Knows Who's in Your Photos

In an apparent effort to help users more easily identify people in uploaded photos, Facebook has released new facial recognition, or face detection, technology.

According to Facebook, the goal of this new technology is to eliminate the "tedious process" of clicking on faces of people in your photos. Instead, Facebook now has them selected automatically.

Currently, you must still type the person's name (in the photo). However, we predict in the near future Facebook will automatically identify and tag people in your photos (from a database photo tagging users helped build).
